Orishas Live @ Parc du Cinquantenaire


On the first Sunday of June, IBGE-BIM (Brussels Institute for Management of the Environment) organises its annual environment festival, in the Cinquantenaire park. The festival is a good opportunity to learn more about the environment and at the same time enjoy a nice Sunday in a rustic setting. On 4 June from noon, the Cinquantenaire park will be the setting for a big festival featuring information stands, demonstrations on various environmental issues in Brussels along with many colourful activities for adults and children.
A special concert for the festival closing: Cuban Band Orishas will perform live for free at 18h!!

Euroferia Andaluza

From noon on Friday 19 May until midnight Sunday 21 May, the biggest European “Feria”, apart from those held in Andalusia, will take place with all its flamboyant folklore and cultural festivities and wide range of speciality dishes on offer. Three days of “Fiesta” at the foot of the Koekelberg Basilica.This fourteenth annual Spanish and International Fête, EuroFeria, will be celebrated, as in past years, in Elisabeth Park at the foot of the Koekelberg Basilica where we are expecting around 150.000 visitors.

Brussels Comic Festival


The names of Belgium's comic strip heroes speak for themselves: Tintin, Spirou and Fantasio, Blake and Mortimer, Nero, Lucky Luke and the Smurfs. These are the creations of artists Hergé, Willy Vandersteen, André Franquin, Edgar P. Jacobs, Marc Sleen, Morris and Peyo.

9ème édition de la Fête du Port de Bruxelles


La 9ème édition de la Fête du Port de Bruxelles se déroulera le samedi 20 mai de 10 à 23 heures. Quelque 20.000 personnes sont attendues à cette fête, dont l'entrée est gratuite. Une vingtaine de bateaux pourront être visités, dont trois navires exceptionnels, ainsi que des navires militaires belges, français et irlandais qui effectueront leur entrée au port le 17 mai. Des activités destinées aux enfants auront lieu au bassin Beco. La journée se clôturera par un feu d'artifice. Le Brussels Royal Yacht Club (BRYC), qui célèbre son centenaire, sera mis à l'honneur à l'occasion de cette 9ème édition. Plus d'info ici.

L’idée d’une ‘Fête de la liberté’ n’a sans doute jamais mieux trouvé de justification qu’en cette première décennie du troisième millénaire. Les jeunes, c’est certain, ont besoin aujourd’hui d’évasion et de se rassurer. La « Fête de la Liberté » veut en quelque sorte tenter de rassembler un maximum de jeunes autour d’une même idée : la liberté. Liberté de pensée, mais aussi simplement liberté d’être.
