Polé Polé Festival @ Ghent kicks off this Saturday!!

Polé Polé - Swahili for "Take it easy" - is each year synonym for several festivals during the summer : the "oldest" one always announces the start of the Summervacation in the beginning of July. The Polé Polé Festival is always on of the most colourful decorated festivals in Belgium and is the only floating festival in Europe, brings the best world music to Ghent, with many international artists playing reggae, salsa, bachata, samba, soul, funk and disco.More than 40 live bands like Jamaica All Stars (Jamaica) La Sonora Carruseles (Colombia)Brooklyn Funk Essentials (US) New York Ska Jazz Ensemble (US) Babylon Circus (Fr)Think of One (B). Blue Note Records Festival 13-23 July in Ghent

The fifth annual Blue Note Records Festival takes place in the idyllic town of Ghent in Belgium. It has been growing in stature over the past few years and celebrates it's fifth anniversary this July. The festival runs from 13th July - 23rd July and this year features, as always, the stars of Blue Note past and present, including; Robert Glasper Trio;Tania Maria; Paolo Fresu Quintet; Dianne Reeves; Raul Midón; Jason Moran Trio; Dr. John; Charles Lloyd; Wayne Shorter Quartet; Chucho Valdés; Ronny Jordan and Us3. Holidays Festival @ Recyclart

The Recyclart Holidays Festival promotes environmental concerns via art, sculpture, sport, music and dance, presenting video installations, street theatre and live music around the Gare de Bruxelles-Chapelle from 14th July till 18th August. Opening the 2006 festival is a concert featuring rock stars Nervous Cabaret, Duchess Says and 31 Knots.
